My name is Tess Kotsibie and I am a theatre creator situated in Calgary on Treaty Seven Territory. At a young age, I knew I was destined for the stage when I performed ‘The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow’ during the wake of my next-door neighbour (at the behest of said neighbour) at age seven. The dream shifted to more backstage work when, at age nine, I saw a production of Cats and believed it to be out of my talent range. Since then, I have been a passionate lover of the performing arts, especially behind the scenes. I feel very much at home in a workshop and have found great enjoyment in all things from tree origins (Carpentry and paper props)!
I love to collaborate and create, bringing designers' work to life onto the stage. As a recent graduate of the Fountain School of Performing Arts, I am excited to bring my applied knowledge to professional stages.
In my free time, I am a voracious reader and keep my singing exclusively to the shower now.
